The delay in the delivery of new aircraft and the grounding of aircraft due to production errors in delivered new aircraft have greatly boosted the second-hand aircraft market. Companies are trying to extend the lease of their aircraft and convert them to purchase. Flying with old technologies will have a direct impact on seat costs, along with rising fuel prices. The ability of airlines to fly relatively old aircraft is entirely related to the strength of their technical infrastructure. In 2023 and 2024, companies will need to increase both material stocks and technical capabilities.
